To obtain resources for funding, equipment , parts, historical data and volunteer help, the Foundation solicits help from a National Support Group consisting of individuals, organizations, corporations, and Foundation members who recognize the mission of the Foundation to preserve the Berlin Airlift History, preserve the Cold War history and preserve a flying example of a Douglas C-54 and Boeing C-97 Transport. Each transport is unique and each has historical data and displays mounted inside its fuselage and is used for historical and educational activities.

The objectives and goals of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation are:

1. To restore and preserve, in flying condition, a Douglas C-54 aircraft, to be displayed to the public as a flying museum, and used for educational and historical purposes.

2. To restore and preserve, in flying condition, other types of aircraft used in the Berlin Airlift and display such aircraft to the public.

3. To establish facilities for permanent protection, display, and maintenance of these aircraft.

4. To establish an organization having the dedication and enthusiasm required to operate, maintain, and display such aircraft, and to preserve the memory and alliance of the men and women of the United States, Great Britain, France, And Germany who conducted the greatest humanitarian operation in aviation history and thereby sustained the besieged city of Berlin from June 1948 to May 1949.

The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation is a tax-exempt charitable organization by the Internal revenue Service as described in Section 501 of the Internal Revenue  Code.  IRS Tax exempt documents are available for inspection upon request.

The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation IS NOT a club, society, or an association that operates for the benefit of its members.  The Foundation is a charitable corporation.   The term MEMBER is a cosmetic term used to express appreciation to Foundation contributors and to recognize those contributors who want to support the Foundation on a continuing basis.  Operations are conducted in a corporate environment and volunteers are selected based on the needs of the Foundation.

The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation is a tax-exempt charitable non-profit corporation that exists on public support.  You can help support the educational and historical mission of the Foundation.  You are invited to select your support from the following three options.  PLEASE MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS IN U.S. FUNDS. OPTION 1:  Please register me as an SUPPORTING MEMBER of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation.  Enclosed is my annual contribution of $_____________ (minimum $50).   Membership will be on a yearly basis. You will receive the Foundation’s newsletter, National Support Group News, (Approximately 4 issues per year and any updates/reports), an identification card showing that you are a proud supporter of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation, and free admittance for you (and your family) to the Foundation aircraft at public events. In addition, you will have the opportunity to volunteer your time helping the Foundation fulfill its mission, whether it is aircraft maintenance, showing the aircraft at public displays, or other necessary functions on "As needed" basis.  Finally, you will have the satisfaction of keeping an important part of our history alive for future generations.

OPTION 2: Please register me as a LIFETIME MEMBER of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation.  Enclosed is my one-time contribution of $_____________ (minimum $500).  Membership will be on a lifetime basis.
